The largest LNG project around the Bohai Sea has been settled in Caofeidian, Tangshan, with a total investment of 32 billion yuan.
Xinhua News Agency, Shijiazhuang, November 7 (Reporter Yang Fan) the reporter learned a few days ago from the municipal government of Tangshan City, Hebei Province. The Tangshan LNG (liquefied Natural Gas) project and the supporting export pipeline project, which are the key projects for the construction of the national natural gas production, storage and marketing system, have been approved by the National Development and Reform Commission. The total investment of the project amounts to 32 billion yuan, and the construction is being promoted rapidly.
Tangshan LNG project, located in Caofeidian Port Logistics Park, Tangshan City, Hebei Province, is the largest LNG receiving station project under construction and planning around the Bohai Sea. The project is divided into three phases, and the gas supply capacity of the first phase of the project will reach 7 million tons after the completion of the first phase of the project.
The supporting outbound pipeline project (Caofeidian-Baodi section) starts from the first station of Tangshan LNG, passes through Tangshan Caofeidian District and Fengnan District, Tianjin Ninghe District and Baodi District, and ends at Baodi Branch Station with a total length of 176.18 km. With the same large diameter of 1422 mm as the Sino-Russian pipeline, the annual gas transmission capacity is 11.2 billion cubic meters, and the daily maximum gas transmission capacity is 160 million cubic meters, which is the largest single pipeline in China at present.
In an interview, the reporter learned that after the completion of the project, Caofeidian will become the port with the largest LNG handling capacity in the country. It will not only focus on ensuring the rapidly growing natural gas demand in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, but also promoting the optimization of energy structure and the prevention and control of air pollution. Moreover, through the interconnection with the gas source trunk lines such as the eastern route of China and Russia and the Shaanxi-Beijing system, it radiates many inland provinces such as Shanxi and Inner Mongolia to realize complementarity and peak regulation with domestic gas, coalbed methane and imported pipeline gas.
At the same time, the project will enable Caofeidian and Tianjin Port to jointly form a handling and storage capacity of about 40 million tons, form an emergency peak regulation center for natural gas in northern China, and build a regional trading center to create China's LNG price index. It is of great significance to obtain the right to speak in China, and then affect the international LNG market price.
