The four rotating bridges, built by the China Railway Seventh Bureau, have a total weight of more than 115000 tons and will span eight railway lines one after another.

The beam bridge, which was the first to complete the rotation, is located in Songshugang Village, Huangpi District, Wuhan City. It is 142 meters long, 42.9 meters wide, 22 meters high and weighs 33000 tons. In the early morning of the 7th, the turntable on the pier with a diameter of more than 21 meters began to rotate counterclockwise. After 110 minutes of rotation of 87.47 degrees, the bridge body smoothly in place, successfully across the Beijing-Guangzhou freight line down, Wuhan north down the ring-hair line two railway lines.

The north section of the Wuhan fourth Ring Line, which has eight lanes in two directions and a total length of 47 kilometers, needs to cross eight railway lines, such as the Beijing-Guangzhou passenger Line and the Beijing-Guangzhou cargo Line. As the railway transportation is busy and the safety risk of conventional construction is high, the builders finally choose the turning mode of the bridge and let the four highway bridges in the north section of the fourth Ring Line span eight railway lines.

Hua Zhihong, chief engineer of the Wuhan North fourth Ring Road Crossing Project Department of the China Railway Seventh Bureau, said that a total of four continuous beam bridges need to be turned for construction, and these four rotating bridges are within a range of 1 km, which is the densest turning group in China. The total length of the bridge reached 514m and the total weight reached 115000 tons, setting new records again.

According to reports, the rotating structure of the bridge is composed of upper and lower turntable, ball hinge, rotating traction system and so on. The rotating bridge weighing more than 30,000 tons can be rotated in situ by the pulling force of only one heavy truck. In the rotation of the bridge group, the project department takes the lead in adopting the attitude determination and positioning technology of the measuring robot in China to realize the dynamic real-time visualization of the rotation attitude and guide the fast, accurate and safe rotation of the bridge.

The remaining three beam bridges will also make use of the railway maintenance "skylight period" to carry out the transformation, and all the rotation construction tasks are expected to be completed by the end of November, laying the foundation for the smooth opening of the North fourth Ring Road in 2020. After the completion of Wuhan North fourth Ring Line, the layout of Wuhan "Ring Line + Ray" road network will be further improved to alleviate the pressure of urban traffic ring line.
