759 suspects of Internet Fraud escorted from Mongolia to Jiangsu Province
Xinhua News Agency, Nanjing, 8 Nov (Reporter Zhu Guoliang) 759 Chinese criminal suspects who were arrested by Mongolian law enforcement departments for committing transnational telecommunications network fraud have recently been repatriated. According to information released by the Jiangsu Provincial Public Security Bureau, this is the largest number of suspects of telecom network fraud seized by Jiangsu public security organs who have carried out international police law enforcement cooperation since the beginning of this year. Prior to this, Jiangsu public security organs have returned 291 suspects of telecommunications network fraud from Spain, Myanmar and Laos.
In recent years, in view of the high incidence of false investment and gambling telecom network fraud cases of "pig killing", the Jiangsu police, under the command of the Ministry of Public Security, took the initiative to carry out research and judgment investigation work, and found a number of clues to cross-border crimes.
On October 29 this year, in accordance with the consensus reached between China and Mongolia in May this year to jointly crack down on the crime of cross-border telecommunications network fraud, the law enforcement departments of Mongolia followed the line according to the clues provided by the Chinese police. Seven hundred and ninety Chinese suspects suspected of telecom network fraud were seized in four hotels in Ulaanbaatar, and nearly 1,000 computers and thousands of mobile phones were seized.
According to information disclosed by the Jiangsu Provincial Public Security Bureau, these personnel came from many provinces in China and went to the Mongolian city of Ulaanbaatar in batches under the convening and leadership of the leaders of criminal gangs. Hiding in the hotel to the Chinese people to make friends on the Internet to induce investment gambling fraud and stock recommendation fraud and other criminal activities.
On 2 November, the Mongolian Immigration Department, in accordance with its relevant laws, repatriated 759 of the suspects to our country by train. On November 7, under the unified deployment and command of the Ministry of Public Security, the Jiangsu public security organs deployed the police forces of nine municipal public security bureaus, together with the police of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous region and the railway, after more than 30 hours. All 759 suspects were escorted to Nanjing by train.
The relevant person in charge of the Jiangsu Provincial Public Security Bureau said that in recent years, under the situation of continuous crackdown and high pressure by public security organs, criminals have transferred fraud sites from Southeast Asia to other regions one after another. This time, China and Mongolia have jointly cracked down on criminal activities of telecommunications network fraud. It has further squeezed the overseas living space of fraudsters. At present, the examination of cases and further investigation are under way.
