The Liaison Office of the Hong Kong Central Committee severely condemns the extremely violent crime committed by the murderer in the deliberate assassination of Mr Ho Kwan-Yiu
Hong Kong, 8 Nov (Xinhua) the head of the Liaison Office of the Central people's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative region issued a statement on 8 November severely condemning the extremely violent crime committed by the murderer in deliberately assassinating the Honourable Ho Kwan-Yiu of the Hong Kong Legislative Council.
The official said that on the morning of November 6, Ho Kwan-Yiu, a member of the Hong Kong Legislative Council and candidate of the Tuen Mun Lok Tsui constituency of the District Council, was premeditated by the assailant to assassinate him with a knife in the street during the publicity of the district election, injuring Ho Kwan-Yiu and his volunteers. The responsible person expressed his deep condolences to Mr Ho Kwan-Yiu and his volunteers, wished them a speedy recovery and expressed his extreme indignation and severe condemnation of the ferocious atrocities committed by the murderers in broad daylight.
The person in charge pointed out that the assailant stabbed he Junyao in the heart with a knife at close range, in a vain attempt to take his life directly, and the motive was clear and clear. This kind of extreme violent crime directed against candidates completely breaks through the bottom line of law and human nature, and seriously damages the fairness, justice and security of the district board election environment. We firmly support the SAR authorities in thoroughly investigating the truth and severely punishing the perpetrators.
The responsible person stressed that as the District Council election approaches, extreme militants frantically smash and destroy the offices of patriotic and Hong Kong MPs and shops, threaten District Council candidates and volunteers, and sabotage election propaganda posters. It has even developed to openly assassinate district board candidates who love the country and Hong Kong, with the aim of creating black terror and chilling effects, intimidating patriots and Hong Kong patriots and the public from daring to stand for election, assist in the election and vote. The general public should fully understand the sinister intentions of the elements in disrupting the geographical elections and messing up Hong Kong, bravely stand up and severely condemn black terror and election violence, and work together to produce the strongest voice of "opposing violence, protecting the rule of law, and ensuring stability." We will maintain a fair, fair and secure electoral order, uphold the rule of law in Hong Kong and "one country, two systems".
