Bucharest, 8 Nov (Xinhua) the Romanian National Bank held a issuance ceremony on the evening of 8 November to launch silver coins commemorating the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Romania and China.

Speaking at the issuing ceremony, Mugur Isarescu, president of the Romanian National Bank, said that over the past 70 years, Romanian-Chinese relations have continued to develop on the basis of mutual respect, support and friendship. The 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Romania and China has provided a new opportunity for further deepening bilateral relations. I believe that in the future, bilateral relations will continue to develop towards the common goal of both sides and achieve more practical results.

Radu Safta, director of the General Administration of Global Affairs of the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that this year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Romania and China and the 15th anniversary of the establishment of a comprehensive friendly and cooperative partnership. According to the Romanian National Bank, the commemorative coin has a silver content of 999/1000, weighs 31.103 grams, is 37 millimeters in diameter, has a denomination of 10 lei (16 yuan), and has a maximum circulation of 500 pieces. The market price is 470.05 lei each.
