Xinhua News Agency, Chongqing, November 9 (Reporter Wu Yanxia and Wu Kunpeng) the "Blue Book on the Development of Old Age Services in Chongqing" was released at the 14th China (Chongqing) elderly Industry Expo and 2019 good Life Carnival held here. According to the blue book, in 2018, the number of registered elderly people over the age of 60 in Chongqing reached 7.1955 million, accounting for 21.13 percent of the total population, of which 5.1624 million were over 65 years old, accounting for 15.17 percent of the total population.
Pan Hongbin, director of the old-age service department of the Chongqing Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau, believes that Chongqing has entered an era of rapid aging, and the development of old-age services in Chongqing will mainly show six trends in the future, including the deepening of the aging population. The rigid demand of pension service is large; The policy promotes the market-oriented development of old-age service to strengthen continuously, the consumption ability of the elderly increases year by year, the market scale expands rapidly, the integration mode of home, community and organization becomes the mainstream of development, and the "combination of medical and nursing" old-age service realizes the full coverage of the community. Big data and intelligence promote the development of pension services in the direction of refinement and personalization.
According to the blue book, as of 2018, Chongqing had 1403 pension institutions, with 218000 beds, with 30.8 beds per 1,000 elderly people, and the coverage rate of community pension services was more than 80 percent. The old-age service system in Chongqing, which is based on home, community, organization and the combination of medical care, has been initially formed.
Pan Hongbin said that in the future, Chongqing will actively respond to the development trend of aging population and ensure that by 2022, on the basis of ensuring that everyone has access to basic old-age services, it will effectively meet the diversified and multi-level needs of old-age services for the elderly. The sense of acquisition, happiness and sense of security of the elderly and their children were significantly improved.
