As soon as the negotiations were concluded, Li Keqiang immediately held a meeting to deploy the event.
The picture shows Prime Minister Li Keqiang attending the third (RCEP) leaders' meeting of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement in Bangkok, Thailand, on the evening of November 4, local time.
On November 6, Premier Li Keqiang presided over an executive meeting of the State Council to do a good job in the follow-up to the (RCEP) of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, so as to promote greater openness and raise the level of trade and investment liberalization and facilitation.
Two days earlier, the prime minister attended a series of East Asian cooperation leaders' meetings in Bangkok, Thailand. After seven years of hard work, the RCEP15 member states announced the conclusion of all text negotiations and virtually all market access negotiations.
"this marks a major breakthrough in the construction of the free trade zone, which has the largest population, the most diverse membership structure and the greatest development potential in the world." Li Keqiang said: "in the numerous and complex situation of the world economy, it is conducive to boosting market confidence, promoting industrial upgrading and employment, and coping with the downward pressure on the world economy."
International public opinion generally believes that the major breakthrough in RCEP is a strong support and useful supplement to the world multilateral trading system, and will set a good example for the establishment of mutually beneficial and win-win free trade arrangements among countries at different stages of development and systems.
Li Keqiang said at the executive meeting: "last year I said that the RCEP negotiations have reached a 'foot in the door'." Now that the ball has scored, but it is still spinning in the net, all sides should step up their efforts to get the ball to the ground as soon as possible. "
The Prime Minister demanded that all parties should be urged to complete consultations on a small number of remaining issues as soon as possible, and that relevant departments should coordinate and cooperate with each other to complete follow-up work within this year, while promoting relevant reforms.
Li Keqiang said: the RCEP member countries are at different levels of development, have strong economic complementarities, form a complete industrial chain, expand the market with each other, and have great room for mutual benefit and win-win results. This will also create good conditions for us to promote industrial upgrading and promote employment.
Li Keqiang encouraged: "Chinese enterprises should seize opportunities, have the courage to meet challenges, actively participate in international competition and cooperation, improve competitiveness, and constantly promote industrial upgrading."
He made it clear that the next step is to further promote the signing of high-standard free trade agreements with more countries and build a new system of open economy at a higher level, so as to enable China's economy to achieve win-win development with all parties in the course of opening wider to the outside world.
