Exploring the Establishment of Diabetes Management Center for patients to run less in many Hospitals in China
Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, 13 Nov (reporters qu Ting, Qiu Yi, Bao Xiaojing)-- striking orange signs, clear waiting areas, inspection areas, and diagnosis and treatment areas. Patients can solve all the problems of diabetes in a "one-stop" manner-this is the National Center for standardized Metabolic Disease Management ((MMC)), which has been set up in several hospitals. The reporter learned from the National Center for Clinical Medical Research of Metabolic Diseases that up to now, 343 hospitals across the country have set up this kind of comprehensive diabetes management center, which has changed the traditional mode of patients turning to multiple departments for treatment. Explore how patients can get standardized services by running less.
It is reported that this innovative model was initiated by academician Ningguang, a famous diabetes expert, and managed by the National Center for Clinical Medical Research of Metabolic Diseases. Its core idea is to create a new diabetes diagnosis and treatment model of "one center, one station service, one standard", and finally reduce the prevalence rate of diabetes and various complications in our country.
On the occasion of United Nations Diabetes Day, the alliance of standardized metabolic disease management centers in the Yangtze River Delta, led by Ruijin Hospital affiliated to the Medical College of Shanghai Jiaotong University, was established on the 13th, and 200 MMC, will be built in the Yangtze River Delta region. To promote patients in the region to enjoy this homogeneous, standardized metabolic disease follow-up management model.
Reporters in the first affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University MMC saw that diabetic patients as long as the last examination of the bed, 15 minutes can complete all diabetes-related complications examination. Patients can also independently upload blood glucose, blood pressure, heart rate and other data to the Smart + connected platform, enjoy online and offline, in-hospital and out-of-hospital services.
Academician Ningguang said that the number of patients with diabetes in China has reached 114 million, but the overall level of care and the rate of reaching the standard of treatment are not ideal. The reason for this situation is that in addition to patients' awareness of standardized treatment, there are also some factors, such as low efficiency of traditional diagnosis and treatment, uneven medical level in different regions, and so on. "MMC hopes to make diabetes treatment easier and more efficient through a high degree of standardization."
The investigation shows that diabetic patients are often complicated with cardio-cerebrovascular, nephropathy, neuropathy, retinopathy and other complications, which need to be registered many times to carry out diagnosis and treatment between different departments, which increases the burden of both doctors and patients. After running for a period of time, many hospitals joining MMC have found that after reducing the redundant process, not only the medical environment is improved, but also the diagnosis and treatment efficiency of doctors is improved.
According to MMC statistics, more than 200000 patients have been managed by MMC in the past two years. By the end of October 2019, the glycosylated hemoglobin compliance rate of patients increased significantly from 21.07% of the baseline to 47.05%, and the comprehensive metabolic compliance rate also increased from 7.18% of the baseline to 18.97%, which had reached the international advanced level.
