Sichuan starts to build Garden-style Chengdu Zhang Daqian Art Museum
Xinhua News Agency, Chengdu, 13 Nov (Reporter Tong Fang) Zhang Daqian is a world-renowned master of Chinese painting, but little is known that Zhang Daqian also left a "three-dimensional painting" thousands of miles away in Brazil. Recently, Sun Kai, who has lived in Brazil for four years with Zhang Daqian, told reporters about the dusty past.
Sun Kai is the son of Sun Yunsheng, a beloved disciple who followed Zhang Daqian for 47 years. According to Sun Kai, on his way back to Argentina from the United States in 1953, Zhang Daqian saw a flat wasteland in the town of Mouji, near S ã o Paulo, Brazil's largest city. It seemed as if he had returned to his hometown of Chengdu in an instant. So Zhang Daqian bought wasteland, built gardens, entitled "Badeyuan", and translated the town of Mouji, where Badeyuan is located, as "Moke Town" according to Portuguese pronunciation, in honor of Wang Wei, a Chinese poet and literati gardener in the Tang Dynasty.
"Badeyuan is the projection of Tai teacher's rich inner world, his work of art, his idealist, the 'three-dimensional painting' in his heart." Sun Kai said.
A total of more than a dozen people from Zhang Daqian and his disciples have lived in Badayuan for more than 17 years. Because Mocha Town has a similar climate to Chengdu, it not only alleviates Daqian's homesickness, but also provides him with a good environment for artistic creation. Here he created "the Yangtze River Wanli map", "Huangshan map", "homesickness map" and other treasures.
According to Sun Kai, the plants and trees in the Badeyuan, the strange stones in the lake water, and Zhang Daqian personally designed them, and found out the elegant names of allusions from the ancient Chinese poems to name each scene. The garden is not only green bamboo pine, four seasons blooming, courtyard staggered, but also swans, peacocks, apes and other rare birds and animals, is a charming human resort.
Sun Kai told reporters, Zhang Daqian once said: "Bade Garden is my big canvas, all the trees and flowers are my material, I use my natural canvas on my canvas, in fact, I am working hard."
Unfortunately, in 1970, hearing that the Brazilian government would build a dam near Badayuan, Zhang Daqian had to leave for settlement in the United States. After the reservoir was built, Badayuan sank to the bottom of the water.
Thankfully, the Chinese garden, which has sunk to the bottom of the water, will be "restored" in Zhang Daqian's hometown of Chengdu.
Sun Kai told reporters that out of patriotism, national righteousness, personal feelings, and a special mission of inheritance, and in order to fulfill Zhang Daqian's long-cherished wish to return to his roots, he has inherited more than 600 Zhang Daqian paintings and objects from his father. Donated to the Chengdu Municipal Government, the two sides will jointly prepare for the establishment of the Chengdu Zhang Daqian Art Museum. The museum will take "eight virtuous Garden" as the image blueprint, integrate the museum, the art museum and the garden art museum, and form the thematic art museum of "the integration of the museum and the garden". The museum is located in the ecological district around the city of Gaoxin South District of Chengdu (Jincheng Green Road), with a total land area of about 104 mu. Construction has been started and is expected to be fully completed and open to the public in two years' time.
