The 22nd Tirana Book Fair opens in the Albanian capital
Xinhua News Agency, Tirana, November 14 (Reporter Zhang Yadong) the 22nd Tirana Book Fair opened on the 13th in Tirana, the capital of Albania, attracting a large number of readers to visit.
Petrit Yumeri, president of the Albanian Publishers Association, said at the opening ceremony that the fair attracted about 100 exhibitors and publishers, as well as cultural institutions and representatives from various Albanian-speaking regions. The five-day book fair, with a total of 90 booths, will bring readers translations of literary masterpieces from different languages in Europe and the Balkans, as well as many activities related to publication and translation.
In his speech, Minister of Culture Margariti said that the book fair is a place to share ideas and exchange ideas, and it is particularly important that it is also a place to discuss literature and literature-related affairs.
Zhou Ding, Chinese ambassador to Albania, who was invited to attend the opening ceremony, said that according to the Chinese and Albanian classics translation program jointly launched by China and Albania, about 400 books have been translated and published by China and Albania in the past few years. The Chinese Embassy in Afghanistan will continue to cooperate with the Albanian Ministry of Culture and the Afghan Publishers Association to translate and publish more classics from each other's countries for the benefit of the people of the two countries.
