In order to improve the ability of resistance and rapid recovery of housing buildings, infrastructure and lifeline projects in the event of earthquakes, Beijing has implemented a safety project for primary and secondary schools throughout the city, with a total of 1290 schools and 4374 single buildings. In the aspect of disaster preparedness and relief, we have continuously promoted the construction of emergency shelters, and 168 emergency shelters of all kinds have been built, with a total area of 22 million square meters.
