Industrial output value of Camellia oleifera in China exceeds 100 billion
At present, the area of Camellia oleifera forest in China is 67 million mu, the annual output of tea oil is about 600000 tons, and the total output value of Camellia oleifera industry reaches 102.4 billion yuan in 2018. China will increase its support for the development of Camellia oleifera industry. By 2025, the planting area of Camellia oleifera will reach 90 million mu, the output of tea oil will reach 2 million tons, and the output value will be raised to 400 billion yuan.
Zhang Jianlong, director of the State Forestry and grassland Administration, introduced at the National Camellia Industry Development Conference: in recent years, China has accelerated the development of Camellia oleifera industry, and the planting area of Camellia oleifera has increased by more than 20 million mu in the past 10 years. A total of more than 15 million mu of low-yield forests have been completed, and the utilization rate of improved varieties of Camellia oleifera has reached 95%. The number of enterprises participating in Camellia oleifera industry has reached 2523, 5400 professional cooperatives and 18800 large households, and more than 700 tea oil brands have been established. Camellia oleifera is one of the four largest woody oil plants in the world, and it is also a traditional industry in many poor areas of China. 1.73 million poor people increase their income through Camellia oleifera industry. Tea oil, known as "Oriental olive oil", is the first health care plant oil promoted by the International Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
