Heilongjiang Province has reduced poverty by more than 330000 people in the past two years
Xinhua News Agency, Harbin, 15 Nov (Reporter Cheng Zilong)-- A few days ago, a reporter learned from the Heilongjiang Provincial Poverty Alleviation Office that the province has reduced poverty by 334000 people in more than two years, more than 90 percent of the poor villages have been listed, and 3/4 poor counties have taken off their hats.
According to the relevant staff of the Heilongjiang Provincial Poverty Alleviation Office, the poor population in Heilongjiang Province has been greatly lifted out of poverty since 2017. By July 2019, a total of 334000 rural poor people had been lifted out of poverty under the current standards in the province, with a poverty reduction rate of more than 75 per cent, and the incidence of poverty in the province had dropped from 2.46 per cent to 0.65 per cent.
By getting rid of poverty, the number of poor villages in Heilongjiang Province has exceeded 90%. Over the past two years or so, 1678 of the 1778 poor villages in the province have been listed, accounting for 94 percent of the total number of poor villages. Poor villages to achieve "three links and three have": access to hardened roads, broadband, radio and television, a clinic, a doctor, a place for cultural activities.
3/4 poor counties in Heilongjiang province take off their hats. Over the past two years, of the 20 key counties in the province's poverty alleviation and development work, 15 have successively lifted their hats out of poverty. The eight provincial poverty-stricken counties have all been lifted out of poverty and have taken solid steps in solving regional poverty as a whole.
