Chinese Ambassador to Thailand on Premier Li Keqiang's visit to Thailand: working together to promote Cooperation
A new chapter on the diplomatic spectrum of working together in the same boat to promote cooperation
From November 2 to 5, Prime Minister Li Keqiang was invited to Bangkok to attend a series of East Asian cooperation leaders' meetings and paid an official visit to Thailand. Premier Li Keqiang's trip was intensive, fruitful, and attracted worldwide attention, leading all parties in the region to sing the main theme of focusing on East Asia, focusing on development, and focusing on cooperation. In the history of exchanges between China and neighboring countries, the history of regional cooperation has written a strong color.
This is a journey to build consensus. In the face of increasing downward pressure on the world economy and the rise of protectionism and unilateralism, Premier Li Keqiang has always held high the banner of multilateralism and demonstrated China's cooperation in promoting all-round opening up to the outside world. It emphasizes that East Asia is our common home and proposes to jointly promote the building of an open world economy and a community with a shared future for mankind. Premier Li Keqiang's speech received a warm response from all parties. Countries in the region agreed that the East Asian cooperation mechanism is more valuable, positively appraised China's increasingly important leading role in regional and global affairs, and was willing to further expand cooperation. We will jointly safeguard the international system with the United Nations as the core and the multilateral trading system with the World Trade Organization as the core.
This is a journey to create the future. At the third meeting of leaders of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, Prime Minister Li Keqiang stood "hand in hand" with world leaders to announce the conclusion of negotiations among the 15 members of the agreement as a whole. Promoting the construction of the world's largest free trade zone and finally "breaking into the net" has become the "highlight moment" of this series of meetings. The international media focused on Premier Li Keqiang's statement that "this marks a major breakthrough in the construction of a free trade zone with the largest population, the most diverse membership structure and the greatest development potential in the world." It is widely believed that China is the main driving force in the negotiations, cheering the agreement to bring stability, confidence and expectations to the world economy.
This is a journey of leading cooperation. At the meeting, Premier Li Keqiang put forward a series of important propositions. We will further promote the building of a closer China-ASEAN community with a shared future, further turn 10 / 3 cooperation into the "main engine" of regional economic integration, and further deepen the next step of cooperation at the East Asia Summit. China proposes to vigorously promote the continuous appreciation and upgrading of regional cooperation in many areas, such as connectivity, innovative industries, people-to-people exchanges, cooperation mechanisms, and so on. The series of meetings formulated the Action Plan for the implementation of the Joint Declaration on the China-ASEAN Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity (2021-2025). Issued a "Joint statement on the docking Cooperation between the" Belt and Road Initiative "Initiative and the ASEAN Connectivity Master Plan 2025"statement on the Connectivity and Connectivity Initiative between the leaders of ASEAN and China, Japan and South Korea" on Sustainable Partnership. Important documents such as the statement of partnership, A large number of concrete cooperation achievements have been achieved, including smart cities, media exchanges, and combating transnational crime.
This is a journey to maintain peace. On a number of occasions, Premier Li Keqiang focused on the latest progress in the South China Sea issue and China's principled stand, pointing out that the situation in the South China Sea is generally improving, and the consultation on the Code of Conduct in the South China Sea is accelerating. China and ASEAN countries are fully capable of building the South China Sea into a sea of peace, friendship and cooperation, and maintaining peace, stability and long-term stability in the region. China and ASEAN countries have sent consistent and positive signals to the outside world, jointly welcoming the early completion of the first reading of the South China Sea Code of Conduct consultation and the launch of the second reading consultation. The two sides will strive to reach the guidelines by 2021 or earlier in accordance with the "three-year Vision".
This is a journey in the same boat. Premier Li Keqiang's official visit to Thailand further deepened the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries, so that the "Sino-Thai family" will be closer to each other. During his visit to Thailand, Premier Li Keqiang held talks with Thai Prime Minister Prayuth, jointly witnessed the signing of bilateral cooperation documents, and jointly met with reporters. Premier Li Keqiang also met with Chuan Li Pai, chairman of the Thai Parliament, and cordially met with representatives of people from all walks of life in Thailand and China. China and Thailand issued a "Joint News statement", satisfied with the active development momentum of bilateral relations, and unanimously agreed to strengthen political and security cooperation and build the China-Thailand Railway into a successful model of high-quality "Belt and Road Initiative" cooperation between the two countries. We will strengthen the docking between Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area and Thailand's "Eastern Economic Corridor," expand tripartite cooperation, create highlights of cooperation in science, technology, and innovation, and deepen cooperation in education, tourism, and other humanities. We will expand cooperation within regional and subregional frameworks such as China-ASEAN and Lan-Mekong cooperation to jointly meet the challenges of protectionism and unilateralism around the world. Premier Li Keqiang stressed that "Thailand is a good friend and good partner of China's equality and mutual benefit."the cooperation between China and Thailand is like a long-tailed ship sailing on the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok.
Next year marks the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand, the year of landing to ensure the signing of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, and the promising year for jointly creating a bright future for East Asia and building a community with a shared future for mankind. We should persist in taking Xi Jinping's diplomatic thought as the guide, take Prime Minister Li Keqiang's important overseas visit as an opportunity, further promote the diplomacy of major powers with Chinese characteristics in an all-round way, and further practice the peripheral diplomatic concept of "affinity, sincerity, benefit, and tolerance." We will further work together with Thailand and other countries in the region to jointly promote the building of a new type of international relations and a community with a shared future for mankind.
