China presents Fengyun No. 2 H Star data receiving equipment to Kyrgyzstan and Mozambique

This was learned at the first Fengyun Meteorological Satellite International user Conference held at Hainan University on the same day, which was hosted by the China Meteorological Administration and the National Space Administration.
It is understood that the Chinese government attaches great importance to international cooperation with Fengyun meteorological satellites. The China Meteorological Administration, in close cooperation with all parties, through such measures as adjusting the global layout of Fengyun meteorological satellites, establishing an emergency protection mechanism for international users of Fengyun meteorological satellites for disaster prevention and mitigation, strengthening the global sharing of satellite data, and organizing and carrying out technical training, We will actively promote the application of Fengyun meteorological satellites at home and abroad.
Liu Yaming, director of the China Meteorological Administration, said at the meeting that in order to improve the service quality of Fengyun meteorological satellites for international users, the China Meteorological Administration has set up a user support team to provide on-site and remote support to international users. Since 2013, nine international training courses on Fengyun Meteorological Satellite applications have been organized and nearly 200 international participants have been trained. In the future, the China Meteorological Administration will continue to pay attention to the needs of users along the "Belt and Road Initiative" line, provide users with better services, and continue to improve the international application level of Fengyun satellites.
So far, China has successfully launched 17 Fengyun meteorological satellites, seven of which are in orbit. The Fengyun Meteorological Satellite is a major contributor to the global space programme and has been included in the Global operational Application Meteorological Satellite sequence by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO). It is also a duty satellite under the International Charter on Space and Major disasters. The Satellite data Broadcasting system ((CMACast)) of China Meteorological Administration is one of the three major global distribution systems of Earth observation Organization (GEO), which provides more than 100 kinds of satellite data and products to users all over the world. Twenty-six international users have registered the Fengyun Meteorological Satellite International user disaster Prevention and Mitigation Emergency Protection Mechanism (FY ESM).
The three-day conference, attended by more than 100 user representatives and experts from more than 30 countries and regions, the World Meteorological Organization and the Asia-Pacific Space Cooperation Organization, will focus on promoting the global integrated application of Fengyun meteorological satellites. Better service "Belt and Road Initiative" countries along the user and other topics for exchange and discussion.
