Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Construction issues "domestic waste Classification Mark" Standard
Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, 15 Nov (Reporter Wang Youling) on the 15th, the Ministry of Housing and Urban and Rural Construction issued the standard of "domestic waste Classification Mark." In this revision of the standard, the scope of application, category composition and graphic symbols of municipal solid waste classification signs have been adjusted.
The relevant person in charge of the Department of Urban Construction of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Construction said at a briefing held on the 15th that compared with the 2008 version of the standard, the scope of application of the new standard has been further expanded. The category of domestic waste was adjusted to 4 major categories and 11 subcategories of recyclable materials, harmful waste, kitchen waste and other garbage, and 4 graphic symbols were deleted, 4 new, 7 used and 4 modified.
According to reports, at present, 237 prefecture-level and above cities in China have started waste classification. The garbage classification coverage rate of 46 key cities in China has reached 53.9%, of which 14 cities such as Shanghai, Xiamen, Ningbo and Guangzhou have a garbage classification coverage rate of more than 70%.
In addition, 30 cities across the country have issued local laws or regulations for waste classification, and 16 cities have included waste separation in their legislative plans. All provinces and autonomous regions have formulated waste classification implementation plans, Zhejiang, Fujian, Guangdong provinces have issued local laws and regulations, Hebei and other 13 provinces have entered the legislative process.
The briefing also introduced the "National garbage Classification" Mini Programs. The Mini Programs, jointly launched by the Ministry of Housing and Urban and Rural Development in conjunction with the Chinese Government Network, will be officially released and launched online on the Mini Programs platform, a "client of the State Council" in the near future. It is understood that the Mini Programs covers 46 key garbage classification cities across the country, and citizens can inquire about the classification of domestic waste through Mini Programs, and intuitively see the current classification signs of various cities and the adjustment of the new standard signs.
