Deepening Cultural Tourism Cooperation in Lancang-Mekong countries
Xinhua News Agency, Kunming, 15 Nov (Reporter Yu Junjie and Yao Bing)-- the cultural tourism exchange between the Lancang River and the Mekong River and the self-driving tour of historical monuments between China and Laos and Cambodia were launched in Kunming on the afternoon of the 15th, with the aim of opening up a cross-border self-driving tour. To explore new forms of Lan Mei tourism and deepen cultural tourism cooperation among watershed countries.
The head of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism said at the launching ceremony that the Lancang-Mekong River is geographically close, popular and interrelated, and over the past three years, the Lancang and Mekong countries have promoted cooperation in the fields of culture and tourism from an initiative to a reality.
It is reported that the theme of this event is "mountains and rivers are linked by fate." the main purpose is to open up Lan Mei cross-border self-driving tour routes, explore new forms of Lanmei tourism, and enrich the contents of the 2019 "year of Sino-Old Tourism" and "year of Sino-Cambodian Cultural Tourism." Starting from Kunming, the motorcade will travel 5720 kilometers to and from 10 key cities in China, Laos, Laos and Cambodia, and will record the beautiful natural scenery, long history and culture, and hospitable people of Laos and Cambodia. Spread to Chinese tourists through various channels, in order to attract more Chinese tourists to Laos and Cambodia, and promote people-to-people exchanges between countries.
Lancang-Mekong cooperation is the first new sub-regional cooperation mechanism discussed, built and shared by six countries in the whole basin. In recent years, Yunnan has actively played its role as a hub connecting South and Southeast Asian countries and vigorously promoted cooperation among all parties in the fields of tourism, agriculture, economy and trade, and humanities, and has made gratifying achievements.
In the next step, Yunnan Province will also work with Mekong countries to deepen cultural tourism exchanges and cooperation, jointly create an economic development belt in the Lan Mekong Basin, jointly promote the building of a community with a shared future for Lan Mekong countries, and better promote the development and prosperity of the Lan Mekong Subregion.
