Gansu Province issues 30 burden reduction measures for Primary and Middle School students
Xinhua News Agency, Lanzhou, 16 Nov (Reporter Bai Liping) in order to effectively reduce the overweight academic burden of primary and secondary school students, nine departments, including the Department of Education of Gansu Province, jointly issued the "implementation Plan for the implementation of measures to reduce the burden of Primary and Middle School students in Gansu Province, including the Ministry of Education." Thirty specific measures have been formulated to reduce the burden on primary and secondary school students.
The scheme makes detailed provisions on the scientific and reasonable arrangement of homework: no written homework is arranged in the first and second grades of primary school, no more than 60 minutes of homework in grades 3 to 6, no more than 90 minutes of homework in junior middle school, and the homework time of senior high school should also be arranged reasonably. The level of difficulty of homework shall not exceed the requirements of the curriculum standards, teachers shall not assign repetitive and punitive homework, and they shall not assign homework to parents or let parents evaluate and correct homework on their behalf.
In the area of school training, the programme requires that in the training of knowledge in the fields of language, mathematics, English, physics, chemistry and biology, Its content, the name of the class, the enrollment object, the progress of the training and the time of the class shall be put on record and examined by the administrative department of education at the county level, and shall be announced to the public. Training courses should put an end to mechanical training, strengthen examination and other bad training behavior, and should not leave homework. The training time shall not conflict with the teaching time of the local primary and secondary schools, and the end time of the training shall not be later than 08:30 in the evening.
The plan reiterated that Gansu strictly forbids schools in the stage of compulsory education to set up key classes, fast and slow classes and experimental classes in any name, standardize the implementation of random equilibrium classes for students, and rationally equip teachers.
According to the Department of Education of Gansu Province, education administrative departments at all levels will publish reporting phones and mailboxes, open channels for social reflection, and guide parents of students to jointly supervise and reduce the burden on primary and secondary school students. Report, investigate and deal with together. At the same time, the educational supervision departments of the local people's governments at all levels will carry out evaluation and assessment of the work of reducing the burden step by step, implement the system of the area of responsibility for supervision, and publish the results of supervision to the public every semester.
