Since late August, the province has once again sustained drought and lack of rain, and most areas have experienced serious meteorological droughts. Water regime monitoring shows that precipitation in Jiangsu Province has been scarce since mid-September. Except for Nantong, Suzhou and Wuxi, there has been no effective precipitation with daily rainfall of more than 5 mm for more than 60 days in the south of Huaihe River. Drought occurred in some areas of Jiangsu, with severe drought in Nanjing, Yangzhou, Xuzhou and Lianyungang.
