Completion and delivery of China-aided Construction of Hospitals in Zimbabwe
Xinhua News Agency, Harare, November 17 (Reporter Zhang Yuliang) the completion and delivery ceremony of the second phase of the Mahuthequa Hospital in Zimbabwe, aided by the Chinese Government, was held on the 16th in Mahuthaiqua, in the eastern province of Marshonaland. Zimbabwean President Emerson Mnangagwa unveiled the project.
Mnangagwa thanked the Chinese government for its selfless assistance. He said in his speech that the construction of this first-class hospital is a symbol of friendship between Tianjin and China. Over the years, China has built a lot of large-scale infrastructure for Zimbabwe, cooperated with Zimbabwe in the fields of agriculture, education, science and technology, medicine and health, completed many livelihood projects, and promoted local economic and social development.
Guo Shaochun, Chinese ambassador to Zimbabwe, said the Mahusai Kwai Hospital was a symbol of friendship between China and Zimbabwe and hoped that the modern hospital would improve local medical conditions. In the future, China and Tianjin will continue to strengthen cooperation in people's livelihood and other fields, so as to bring more well-being to the people of the two countries.
Mahusai Kwa Hospital, also known as the China-Zimbabwe Friendship Hospital, is a livelihood project for China to help Zimbabwe improve its medical and health services. The first phase of the hospital project was put into operation in early 2013, and the second phase mainly includes the maintenance of the first phase of the project and the construction of additional roads, new water towers, wells and walls, renovation and expansion of disinfection rooms, laundries and canteens.
