Results of co-selection of academicians of the Academy of Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences announced
Today, the Chinese Academy of Sciences released specific information on 64 new academicians. According to statistics, the average age of the newly elected academicians is 55.7 years old, the minimum age is 42 years old, the maximum age is 67 years old, and 87.5% of them are under 60 years old. There are six women among the newly elected academicians.
Among them, there are 11 in the Department of Mathematical Physics, 10 in the Department of Chemistry, 10 in the Department of Life Science and Medicine, 11 in the Geoscience Department, 7 in the Information Technology Science Department and 15 in the Technology Science Department.
In addition, after the election of all academicians, a total of 20 foreign academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences were elected in 2019. The newly elected foreign academicians come from 12 countries, including 8 in the United States, 2 in France, 1 in Australia, Austria, Pakistan, Russia, Kazakhstan, the Netherlands, Canada, Sweden, Italy and the United Kingdom. Of the 75 newly elected academicians of the Academy of Engineering, 10 are from the Mechanical and Transport Engineering Department, 9 from the Information and Electronic Engineering Department, 9 from the Chemical, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Department, and 9 from the Energy and Mining Engineering Department. There are 8 in the Department of Civil Engineering, Water Conservancy and Construction Engineering, 7 in the Department of Environment and Textile Engineering, 7 in the Department of Agriculture, 10 in the Department of Medicine and Health and 6 in the Department of Engineering Management.
