The 20 new initiatives launched in Kunshan this round include the establishment of a bimonthly salon system for Taiwan compatriots and Taiwan enterprises, each focusing on the latest laws and regulations, policies and measures, and the issues concerned and reflected by Taiwan compatriots and Taiwan enterprises. Carry out policy interpretation, answer questions and answer questions, and respond to demands.
To implement the "215' Action of the Government Commissioner for attracting Investment and protecting Merchants," 200 cadres were selected and linked to 1000 key enterprises, including 307 Taiwan-funded enterprises. We will improve the mode of co-education between schools and enterprises, build 100 talent training bases for Taiwan-funded enterprises within three years, and train technical and skilled personnel.
In addition, the 20 new policies also cover optimizing the rapid inspection and release mechanism for imported Taiwan goods, supporting the establishment of intellectual property workstations and various scientific research institutions in key Taiwan-funded enterprises, and supporting youth employment and entrepreneurship on both sides of the strait and equal treatment for Taiwan compatriots to buy houses.
Since the establishment of the first Taiwan-funded enterprise in 1990, Kunshan has approved a total of 5174 Taiwan-funded projects with a total investment of US $60.06 billion, 40 per cent of the gross domestic product of the Kunshan region, 50 per cent of the total industrial output value, 60 per cent of the foreign capital utilized and 70 per cent of the total import and export volume. Due to the contributions of Taiwan-funded enterprises, there are more than 100000 Taiwan compatriots who work and live in Kunshan all the year round.
