Xinhua News Agency, Nagoya, Japan, 23 Nov (Reporter Guo Dan) on 23 November local time, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi attended the G20 Foreign Ministers' meeting in Nagoya, Japan.
Wang Yi said: at present, the downside risks of the global economy are increasing, unilateralism and protectionism are on the rise, and the world is full of instability and uncertainty. We need to take positive action. First, we should adhere to multilateralism and abandon unilateralism and protectionism. Multilateralism is the "master switch" for solving global challenges. The G20 should take the lead in promoting multilateralism and come up with feasible solutions for the healthy development of the world economy. Second, we should adhere to openness and integration and promote trade and investment liberalization and facilitation. We will maintain a rules-based multilateral trading system, carry out the necessary reforms to the WTO, create an open, fair and non-discriminatory competitive environment, and support developing countries in continuing to enjoy "special and differential treatment." Third, we should adhere to fairness and justice and promote the reform of the international financial system. The G20 should continue to provide political guidance for reform, promote the launch of the 16th round of the IMF General Review as soon as possible and make substantive progress, and enhance the representation and voice of emerging markets and developing countries. Fourth, it is necessary to adhere to balance and inclusiveness and create conditions for achieving sustainable development. Sustainable development is the "golden key" to solve global problems. China is willing to share development experience with other countries and promote continuous progress in the cause of global poverty reduction.
Wang Yi said that China supports the G20 in providing political impetus for the implementation of the Paris Agreement and is willing to work with all parties to promote the positive results of the 25th Conference of the parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate change. We will actively host the 15th Conference of the parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity next year. China supports the G20 in giving long-term priority to African issues, helping Africa solve the three major development bottlenecks of lagging infrastructure, shortage of talents and shortage of funds, and solve the three major livelihood problems of employment, food and clothing, and health. We will help Africa get out of the trap of "non-development" and better achieve autonomous and sustainable development in Africa. China adheres to the concept of truth, sincerity and sincerity, as well as the correct concept of justice and interests, and consistently helps the development of Africa. It is hoped that developed countries will also earnestly fulfill their commitments to Africa.
Wang Yi said that in the face of a severe external environment, China's economy has made steady progress. The second session of China International Import Expo was unprecedented. China will unswervingly continue to open to the outside world and create a new pattern of opening up in an all-round way. China supports Saudi Arabia in hosting the summit as chair of the G20 next year, and is willing to strengthen communication and coordination with all parties so as to contribute more positive energy to the practice of multilateralism, improving global governance, and building a community with a shared future for mankind.
