Wang Yi: China's development and growth can not be stopped by any force
Xinhua News Agency, Nagoya, Japan, 23 Nov (Reporter Guo Dan) on 23 November local time, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Dutch Foreign Minister Bullock during the G20 Foreign Ministers' meeting in Nagoya, Japan. This paper expounds China's principled stand on the current Sino-US relations.
Wang Yi said that the United States has resorted to unilateralism and protectionism, undermining multilateralism and the multilateral trading system, and has become the largest destabilizing factor in the world. For political purposes, the US side has used the state machinery to crack down on legally operated Chinese enterprises and to charge them with various "trumped-up" charges, which is an act of out-and-out bullying. Some politicians in the United States have smeared China all over the world, but they have not come up with any factual basis, which has not only lost their demeanor as a big country, but also damaged their own credibility. The United States has grossly interfered in China's internal affairs with domestic law in an attempt to undermine China's "one country, two systems" and the prosperity and stability of Hong Kong, and violates the Charter of the United Nations and the basic norms of international relations. As the only superpower in the world today, the United States should assume international responsibility, abide by international rules and fulfill its international obligations.
Wang Yi stressed: China's development and growth is an inevitable historical trend, and no force can stop it. There is no way out of the zero-sum game in the United States, and win-win cooperation between China and the United States is the right way in the world.
